HOw much does professional and photography videography cost? A 2026 Business guide.
If you’re a business owner in Colorado looking into professional photography or videography, one of the first questions you’re probably asking is: “How much is this actually going to cost?”
It’s a fair question—and unfortunately, there isn’t a single answer.
Professional photography and video production can range from a few hundred dollars for a simple content session to several thousand dollars for a comprehensive commercial production. The difference usually comes down to the scope of the project, the amount of planning involved, the number of people working on it, the equipment required, and, perhaps most importantly, what you actually need the finished content to accomplish.
What Does Professional Business Photography Cost?
For a business photography session in Colorado, you might spend anywhere from several hundred dollars for a straightforward portrait or content session to several thousand dollars for a larger commercial branding shoot.
A professional business photography project could include corporate headshots, environmental portraits, products, facilities, employees, lifestyle imagery, behind-the-scenes photographs, or photographs specifically created for your website and marketing campaigns.
The important thing isn’t simply asking, “What does a photographer charge per hour?”
Instead, ask: “What am I going to be able to do with these photographs?”
A great photograph can live on your website, social media, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, advertisements, brochures, presentations, and other marketing materials for years.
What Does Professional Video Production Cost?
Video pricing works similarly.
A simple interview or social media video may be relatively straightforward, while a commercial production involving multiple locations, interviews, lighting, audio, motion graphics, multiple cameras, professional editing and several deliverables requires considerably more production.
That’s why I generally recommend thinking about video in terms of the finished product and its purpose, rather than simply the number of hours someone is holding a camera.
A two-hour shoot might produce one video.
A strategically planned half-day shoot might produce a library of video clips, interviews, B-roll and short-form content that your business can use for months.
That’s a very different value proposition.
What Are You Actually Paying For?
When you hire a professional photographer or videographer, you’re not simply paying someone to show up with a camera.
You’re paying for planning, creative direction, lighting, composition, professional equipment, audio, production experience, editing, color correction, retouching, file organization and—most importantly—the ability to create content that represents your business professionally.
After 15 years working in photography and video, I’ve found that the best projects start long before the camera comes out.
We talk about what your business needs, where the content will be used, who you’re trying to reach and what you want the content to accomplish.
The Real Question Isn’t “How Much Does It Cost?”
The better question is:
“What is professional content worth to my business?”
If your website looks outdated, your social media is inconsistent, your team has no professional photographs, or you’re constantly scrambling to find something to post, professional content can solve several problems at once.
At AMP Imagery, I work with businesses throughout Colorado to create professional photography, video and ongoing content designed around how they actually market their business.
Sometimes that means a single photography session. Sometimes it’s a larger commercial production. And for businesses that need a consistent flow of content, a monthly photography and video retainer can make much more sense.
The goal isn’t simply to create something that looks good.
It’s to create content your business can actually use.
If you’re considering professional photography or video for your Colorado business and aren’t sure what you need—or what you should budget—I’m happy to talk through the project with you and help determine what makes sense.
